The cottage is situated on the edge of the village of the small village Mouronho. This typical Portuguese village is surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests and has many lovely walks.

There is a small local café/supermarket, butchers, a small clothes shop, Post Office a chemist and Doctors surgery, all within 5 minutes walking distance of the cottage.

There is also a local Social club where you can play pool, table tennis, table football and enjoy a drink.
